Five's eyes follow his brother, watching his every move, waiting to see what he's going to do. Will he try to leave or will he see this thing through to the end? Honestly, if the rolls were reversed, Five has no idea what he would do. Would he let his brother die horrifically (actually see his brother die this time. Be the cause of it, even. No doubts, then. No question about whether or not something he did may have lead to that outcome. He would know) or give in to torturing him? Say he got a little over-zealous with his torture and kill his brother, making sure it's done as quickly as possible? Go after the demons waiting in the shadows and risk them hurting Klaus before he even gets close? He can't blink in here. He'd never get to one of them in time.

There are no good options here. There's nothing where anyone comes out on top. But there are certainly bad options.

He watches his brother's hand hover over first one tool and then another, willing him to just pick something already and get started. The longer Klaus takes to choose, the more he hesitates, the longer Five suffers. If torture really is the path he's choosing, he's certainly giving the demons what they want.

"Klaus-" Five starts, about to demand that his brother just pick something up when he finally does. A syringe sitting at the very end. Klaus has made his choice and Five wants him to go back to choosing. He tries to pull at the chains which only makes the hooks tear more skin and dig deeper into muscle, fresh blood soaking through his shirt and running down his back. This time he does cry out in pain. There's no stopping it. It's out in the world before he can even think about it. Not that he can think about much at the moment with blinding pain clouding his mind. A faraway voice in the back of his mind tells him that this fresh pain is his own doing, that he struggled when he shouldn't have, but something louder and more clear is telling him that the the demons are already pulling him apart. Klaus is agreeing to do what they want him to do, but it doesn't matter. The demons have decided to kill him anyway.

What's in that syringe, though, he doesn't want it. Whether the demons kill him or not, he doesn't want it. Physical injuries are one thing, he can deal with those. He'll suffer for it, but he'll deal. He doesn't want to be drugged. His mind is already foggy, he barely has his wits about him as it is, he doesn't want to slip any further. "No, Klaus. Don't do it. Stop, please."
