This man's smart if he can guess the reason Nezumi decided to eat less. Admittedly, he really likely can't eat as much as most people, for much of the same reason the poor people in Jon's world can't: appetite eventually has to reduce to match availability. Nezumi has been in Hell for over a year so things have changed, but he isn't going to allow himself to depend on food when he can't trust the source.
