"That's a good plan. I wouldn't say anything the hotel does is safe, but there are things that happen that are lower risk. The big open gatherings are a lot less likely to be full of tragedy and pain though. And if you come with someone else, or meet up with people, it's almost safe."

He felt his cheeks heat a little and ducked his head a bit, slightly ashamed. Steve wasn't an angel despite how some people thought of him, and he'd done plenty of things that landed on his sin list sort of voluntarily.

"Ah. Well. Yes. I mean, I try to take joy in things when I can. It isn't always possible, and frankly, it's sort of the worst part of the place. When it can start to feel like home and lull you into letting down your guard. Then you get blindsided. Humans just aren't made to stay on edge for so long with no rest. We have to let go and relax, whether it endangers us or not."
