A part of her wants to hit him. The rest of her understands that it wouldn’t hurt him anyway (or, at least, ‘understands’ based on her assumption that he currently has his powers intact). Worse, doing so will only potentially provoke him. Like it or not, she’d never win in one-on-one fight with Homelander.
Which means that there’s a limit to how well she can protect Hughie.
“He mentioned you were here.” Which is a roundabout way of answering the question. “Small world, huh? Almost like there’s someone up there pulling the strings.”
