It's Lucifer's fault. It's the demons' fault. It's fucking Hell's fault. Not Klaus. Klaus wasn't the one who cut him off from his power and prevented him from leaving this room. God, what an awful feeling. There have been times when he's been unable to use his power for one reason or another, like being tired or injured or simply due to inexperience, but this was different. It had still always been there. Even when he couldn't use it, it was still there. It was a source of comfort when nothing else could be. It protected him when he needed it. It made him effective and efficient at what he does. It made him incredibly deadly and hard to defend against. It was his own defense against opponents who otherwise outmatched him. It was something that was always there and it was something that he just assumed always would be there. And it always had been. Except this time. It wasn't just there but out of reach, it felt like it wasn't there at all. Previous times, it had been like a broken arm, otherwise useless but it would heal in time, but this time it was like he'd lost the limb entirely. He never wants to feel like that again.

That's not something Klaus could have done to him. That was all Hell. All Lucifer and his demons. Just like they were responsible for everything that came after. Klaus was just their pawn. He had no more say in the matter than Five did. It was an impossible scenario with no chance to come out on top. If Klaus had refused to do it, Five still would have been tortured with hook after hook until all the chances had run out and Five was violently ripped apart. While it's the scenario that Five was pushing for, Klaus still would have suffered. And Klaus giving in to their demands, getting the whole thing done and over with? Well, their currently suffering the consequences of that.

Klaus isn't at fault.

Five inhales sharply as Klaus helps him to his feet. Five doesn't ask for help. He doesn't like asking for help. He's gotten used to there being no help. But without it, he wasn't getting up anytime soon. He's exhausted, he's in pain, he lost a lot of blood. He hates asking for help, but what choice did he really have? "Just-" Five rests his head against Klaus a little, eyes closed as he catches his breath. "Just give me a minute."
