[Steve watched those eyes stare at his arm and squirmed inside. It was ugly, very ugly, but it wasn't going to hurt him more than it already did. Scars healed slowest, and his body was currently working on the internal structures that had been damaged. It would take a long time before that arm looked normal again.

He groaned when James started to stand, but Steve didn't do anything to stop the man, and he took a moment to hitch up his loose pants before following James. Sitting was a tiny bit awkward since it sort of hurt to put that much pressure on his lap, but Steve did as he'd been told and even held his arm out for the man, looking up with a crooked smile.]


It really is just ugly. Body's doing the internal stuff first. It'll be months at least before it starts looking decent. I promise, it doesn't even hurt.


[Well, mostly it didn't. Steve's definition of pain was more than a little skewed. There were times when it started twitching madly as the inside stuff hit a nerve bundle or something, but mostly it didn't register to him. It was tight and hot and the skin felt thin over the muscles, but Steve didn't worry about it. It was slowly healing. Good enough.]
