Maybe that'll never happen, but it's something to think about, and it helps redirect the anger that boils up from time to time.

Once he has the key, he crosses over to Steve as quickly as he can and gets to work unlocking the thing holding him in place. As soon as the lock springs open, he reaches up to try and help get his friend out. "Maybe if we get you patched up quick enough, you won't even scar." He smirks in spite of himself and in spite of the unpleasant burning sensation coming from his damaged hand. "You're too pretty for that." It's an attempt to distract him from the discomfort, that's all. He'll apologize for being so crude later.
