Homelander takes a step back. Yeah, that probably was a bit of a cunt move. If Butcher is smart, he'll keep the blade in until he can get to a first aid kit, but Butcher seems more likely to lean into his rage than his survival instinct.

He doesn't move quite as quickly as he should. His heart is pounding, his feet feel glued to the bloody floor, and he hates the idea of running away. In the end, he still turns and goes, walking pretty briskly towards the door. He stops only to give Butcher a quick over-the-shoulder look, before taking his not-entirely-dignified leave.
