Caleb didn't know what a Grisha was, but a small science sounded like wizardry and alchemy and quite a lot of the more scholastic routes of the arcane. Even making the golem in the Heirloom Sphere had some similarities to the artifice of the aeormatons. The advancement of technology owed much to magic, and the understanding of magic owed considerably to the growth of technology.
"Well, in my case, it's a lot of book learning," Caleb said, smiling slightly. "Reading, looking at the way the world works, investigating. Learning how the spells themselves come into being, educating yourself on existing ones, and then how to make new ones."
And he nodded, his smile more earnest. "You're a little older than I was when I started, but plenty of people came to wizardry later in life. It's a relatively easy skill to pick up, all things told."
