The snap has the opposite effect one would think it might have on someone like Jesper. He doesn't come to attention, or suddenly sit up straighter in his seat. Instead, he eases back into the booth, shoulders slumping with what could easily be called relief. Whatever spiral that had sent Kaz on, he wasn't completely lost to it.
