[ A soft smile comes across her face once he starts. She'd read that book just once, but it was nice to have somewhat familiar words wrap around her warmly, helping her travel to a nicer place in her mind.
It's moments before she fully fades away that she vaguely makes note of his tone of voice and how different it is. But before she can fully grasp the thought, the tension eases out of her body and she slips into a peaceful slumber. There was no guarantee things would stay that way--her forays into dreaming were often full of tumult, pain, regrets, worries. Everything that haunted her visited during the one time of day where she had zero control, complete with the extreme detail of a creative mind. She loathed sleep. She avoided it when she could.
This time, however, when she woke up...she'd get to appreciate one of the rare moments where her mind was blank, a time when nothingness was good. She could rest.
