"Oh, yeah, a fuckin' mystery," Frank joked. He respected that it wasn't a yes, and didn't move closer. He let the offer sit, sank down a little deeper in the water until he could rest his head against the side of the pool. He didn't quite close his eyes, but they were mostly closed.

"Could be worse," he said, then paused. "I dunno how, but I'm sure it could be."
