That sounds more than fine, he thinks. They can just stay here until whatever it is that possessed Steve has worn off and they can start that conversation from the beginning. Of course, unfortunately, he's not able to keep it up indefinitely, and the harder he struggles, the faster he's getting tired. He considers elbowing the man in the back of his head, but figures all that would achieve is just make him angrier.

It will just take minutes, maybe a few more, of Bum's increasingly desperate attempts to get free, and then he finally gives up again with a choked sob, trying to blink away the tears as he goes still, just as instructed. Why was he always so damn helpless?

Maybe he deserved everything coming his way, then. And on top of it all, he's afraid of disappointing Steve, the real one, the one who thought there was something good and worthwhile in him.
