There's a moment of pause as Steve holds out that mug, as if being judged for the tea, before Lucifer takes it to hold. Whether he'll end up drinking it, well, he'll see.

"I'll try not to take that personally." He jokes back with a slight smile, not actually taking it that way, but willing to push others to think he had to keep them on their toes. "I highly doubt that as long as any remain here there will ever be a true 'normal', as you put it. Hell is not meant for normality, it's meant for suffering, and if you're lucky, climbing back out for redemption through the levels. However, that tends to take... a very long time. And tends to break the minds of humans."

"Really," Lucifer continues, "I don't recall hearing humans getting out of Hell another way," Well, there were two exceptions in his world right now. "Short of being invited there temporarily in the first place." Then a pause and almost sounding like he's trying to be comforting, but those words are not quite backed up with his tone, or his expression. "Not that I say this to cause more discomfort over your situation, more to not withhold the truth."
