Adam exhaled. It wasn't what he'd been expecting but it was better than it could have been. It didn't add up though. He was just compiling more questions instead of getting satisfying answers.

"Do you remember the place before this? The gems? Malachite? The-" how did he even talk about turning into a monster every month without sounding out of his mind if Ronan didn't remember? And what would it mean if he didn't? "-the changes?"

He wished it was easier to tell, that he could tell just by looking at Ronan, but he didn't see a gem on him. Then again, he'd never been able to see it. He assumed it was someplace under his clothes, like Adam's. There was a chance this was- what? A different Ronan? If they could be kidnapped by gods or brought to hell or made to change into monsters on the whim of a sleeping god's dreams, why couldn't there be different Ronans? Or maybe the same Ronan with different memories. Theorizing would only get him so far, in the end.
