[ Faye didn't necessarily care to go down into the musty depths of a basement but here she was. Defenses at an all-timehigh now that she's carrying an uneasiness towards whatever may be down there. Her gun is tucked in the hem of her shorts and she takes small comfort in that as she makes her way down the stairs and into the yawning darkness. The least they could've done was provide her with a damn flashlight.
She proceeds cautiously once she's made it to the bottom. The smell of mold and copper filling her lungs the farther she lurks, and it's enough to make her gag. She pinches her nose. And what little light there is does nothing but set an even creepier ambiance to the place. She shivers from the cold drafts that seep around corners and chooses to ignore whatever liquid that is that seems to splash up against her legs as she walks through a couple rooms. It's water, she'll tell herself. But the smell betrays her.
As she advances forward and past more rooms, she catches the sound of echoing footsteps that temporarily disorient her before the sudden weight of a body collides with hers. She yelps and instinctively draws her gun out, distancing herself enough, on the verge of squeezing off a shot.
Yet... that wasn't some infernal creature she's run into. That was a familiar face she's seeing. ]
