Well. Perhaps he was a bit good at plotting on occasion... but in this particular instance he hadn't been spreading rumors about Steve to the little pests, or anyone else for that matter. He hadn't a reason to, and he wouldnt've even known what to say. Rather nice fellow, likes pets and snow, was hardly damning gossip.

Draco was ready to say as much even, but Steve had just gone very solemn. He waved off the language, but frowned a bit as Steve continued.

"Not at all. Never had a real familiar myself, my father discouraged it, said it fostered weakness... " But he'd rather not go into that. "I suppose I could understand your hesitation. We've already got the lists, it's probably not the brightest idea to add to them unnecessarily."

He really ought to take his own advice once and awhile.
