And although Faye wasn't much of an engineer herself, what was primitive to him held a bit more familiarity to her. Not by much, but it would be worth a shot to try and fix.
She steps forward, tucking her gun in her shorts, and examines the damage. Her hand snakes out to nudge and pull at the cluster of wires. There's no calculation behind her efforts at all but she determines a few of the frayed wires to be the culprit. Neglectful maintenance.
