Peter could relate to a lot of what Steve was saying. If people only used the formula the way Steve did, maybe things wouldn't have gone so terribly.
"I always wanted to be extraordinary," he said softly. "I wanted to make a difference in the world, to help and be a hero. About five years ago, I started having dreams I could fly. They felt so real to me. I was convinced that was my time to finally be somebody. Back then, I didn't really understand my powers and what I could do. But I still risked my life to save the world when I got the chance."
He glanced over at Steve. "If we get stuck in that torture room again, I want you to be the one to cut me up. We'll take turns. Deal?"
