If I'm supposed to have sympathy, I need more than knowing your family died. It happens all of the time. Everybody loses their family. I'll admit it's bad. It's a tragedy, but life is full of them. If you feel bad for every one of them, you'll exhaust yourself early on.

[ It's harsh. Nezumi knows it will be taken that way, and yet he does nothing to soften the words. Personally, he has nothing against Dimitri, nothing more than he has against the rest of the world. In spite of his words, he's not actively trying to hurt him. But to Nezumi, he's speaking the truth. He can't count how many children he's seen orphaned or abandoned, how many parents he's seen lose their child. Once upon a time, he'd been a horrified child himself, he'd been in shock at this new world around him. But he had to harden up and disregard it, or he'd die. The shell was his survival, and he isn't about to drop it. ]

I don't have it. [ It's rare Nezumi sincerely tries to be sympathetic, and yet nothing comes. He's too hardened. There are other emotions, not all of which are bad, but they don't help him so he won't share. ] But you have the right to get your revenge. If anything is worth dying for, it's that.

[ That's as close as Nezumi can get. It's an acknowledgment that Dimitri was wronged, that it was a worth losing everything for. Nezumi plans to die in his revenge against No. 6 so that's something he can understand. ]
