Klaus isn't even sure himself if he expected her to believe it or not. He's not actually all that honest of a person (as his sin list would absolutely show), but he usually only lied to get people off his case, or if he needed something from someone, or to avoid accountability related to his drug problem.
Even he wouldn't lie about the apocalypse. But of course, she doesn't know anything about him, other than that he's clearly into drinking and has questionable fashion sense.
"Thanks," he says, and means it.
He clicks his oversized drink against her Coke and smiles again. "Klaus Hargreeves." He waits to see if that rings some kind of bell, but he has the feeling it's not going to. That's a wild thought, to be so entirely anonymous that the name Hargreeves gets nothing back. Sure, he's not Allison or anything, but when you grow up being forced to be a teen hero, a lot of people remember that last name. Most people don't know any of their first names these days, aside from Allison.
"So what's this worldwide event?" he prods, out of curiosity. She doesn't seem like she's off her rocker, just...covered in blood. Which is admittedly weird, but she seems more afraid of him than anything else, and she doesn't seem seriously injured, so he's willing to let that one go for awhile.

They're in Hell! Why not be covered in blood?
