[ sorry for what? he didn't ask for an apology, already told jason before that he didn't blame him for what happened. they've talked about this already, hadn't they?

he stands steady as jason pushes into his face, insistent and sharp and all hard, cutting words. sure, it's always gotten to him. jason's been digging under his skin ever since he showed up and announced that he was robin 2.0, but dick keeps it all off his face and doesn't budge an inch more than the flex in his jaw. nostalgic, maybe, but the situation is completely different. dick isn't half as wound up as he was the last time jason tried this and at least this time, jason's bristling over something that he actually has a right to care about. ]

I wasn't. I know you're not sorry, I told you, I'm not looking for you to be sorry. It's not your fault, I told you that already. [ his eyes are wary, narrowing just as jason's does, aware of his every millimetre shift, ready for any sudden movements. if anything, he's sorry--still sorry, sorry even after coming clean and checking himself into jail, sorry after the whole team came back and jason didn't. he tips his head back, chin nudging up as his eyes narrow.

but he apologized once. he told jason before he told anyone else, tried to trade his life for jason's and yet still, this. still, jason's petty fury tries to be the centre of his attention. so he tossed jason on the ground once, dropped him from a building once, but he stopped that last fall, hadn't he? somehow, between them, it's always about falling. ]
Look, Jason. Drop it. It's in the--[ past. past. this jason is still in the past, if the fresh wound held in his eyes, staring relentlessly at him is any indication, this is a jason from the past. ]

You really believe I dropped you, don't you?
