Henry's expression falters for a moment; before he takes a deep unneeded, but stabilizing breath. "We got away, and he said I would either kill her or take her as mine," Henry gives a dark laugh, "At her first blood," He shakes his head, "Crowly was horrible, deserved what I did to him later."
He licks his lips a little, "We settled with natives. They didn't kill us because I agreed to be used as a weapon against their enemies; I did it so she would have others around, humans." He says, "I raised her as my daughter; I knew one day more English would come," He narrows his eyes, "And when they saw the settlement was gone, who they would blame," Henry closes his eyes. "They came back; the slaughter started again; she got far too curious; no matter what I told her, she wanted to see people who were like her... no, it didn't matter what I told her, she thought she could bring peace to explain things, she spoke both languages, they thought she was a prisoner."
He looks a Namor, meeting his eyes, "None of that was my sin though; Crowly was right," He sighs, "I fell in love with her, she fell in love with me, one night she came to me, I couldn't or didn't stop her..." He stops, a look of self-disgust moving across his face. "I took her, the only person I'd been with since Edeva; I stopped aging that day; I watched her grow into an adult," He was quiet for a moment, "I didn't understand that the control I had, the need to cling to my humanity, wasn't common, so I turned her, we made love as immortals, when I woke up she was gone, I assumed she threw herself into the daylight before he skin was ready, and burned herself to death." He pushes his fingers through his hair, "I slept with and turned a woman who I had raised as my daughter," He says flatly. "That is my greatest sin." He shrugs.
"She didn't die; she caused a nightmare a few hundred years later, one that is my fault for turning her, but those aren't my sins to bear."
