Arrival

"Judgement has come upon you. God has deemed you worthy of Hell. But don't worry, it can still be undone," comes a soothing voice that echoes all around you. The voice promises comfort, hope even.

It may seem like a nightmare at first, despite all of that. Full of hellfire nipping at your skin and a sensation of being pulled down no matter how much you struggle or cry for help. Wretched, unseen hands pull at you, grip tight at your body, tighten on your throat, skeletal fingers grab at your face, slide in your mouth and jab at your eyes as they struggle for purchase. It feels like for a moment, they may snap your neck as they tug and pull. The more you resist, the more phantom hands are added to your struggling body.

It feels like they could tear you apart if you let them. The only thing to do is to let go and stop fighting.

And so you do.

Darkness and nothingness consumes you for a second, And it seems to linger for a long time. There is nothing at all. It must be lonely. But it won’t be forever.

Initially, everyone opens their eyes to a long, dark corridor made of stone. They find themselves in what appears to be a long queue with other sinners, palm bloody.

Characters find their bodies feel heavy and stiff, bruised with odd hand prints here and there that they received during their journey down below. A massive headache throbs behind their temples. They are urged forward to take a numbered ticket and wait their turn in the long line. As they're ushered forward through the corridor, their first stop will be to see Lilith, standing outside her office.

The woman in a smart suit and a friendly smile steps forward to greet sinners one by one. "I'm sorry for your rough landing. We've never gotten it quite as smooth as it was in the past. Please, let me see your hand--"

Once she has the sinner's hand, there's the warm, almost electric touch of magic that soothes away the aches and pains, heals the wound left behind on each sinner's palm. Lilith looks satisfied with her work and gives a nod. "There, all better. Please take your care package and continue on until you reach the stairs."

On their way out, sinners receive their 'package', a contract detailing all sins committed. If they look at the list closely enough they'll notice it's written with their blood. That explains the palm wound then. It's an old piece of parchment despite the freshly written letters upon it. They will also receive a slightly more modern smart phone. Think early generation Android and a pamphlet made by other sinners during their stay here with useful tips.

After that, sinners will be ushered on to a set of stairs where a guard waits. "Welcome to Penance," the demon says gruffly before motioning them on without an ounce of courtesy. "Don't hold up the line."

They seem to go on and wind forever, but eventually, they come upon what appears to be a cruise ship.

The demon stationed outsid the entrance looks rather bored, but when sinners approach? He seems to snap to attention to offer whatever help they might need of him. He will at least direct to food or rooms to rest their wary bodies, or recommend ways to spend their time while they reach new lands. Sorry about the confusion, Hell is just undergoing some rather unhappy changes.


Stand Your Ground

The Penance Community is gone. Lilith made the tough call to abandon the community and urged sinners to save both Lucifer and Barbas along the way. Everyone who arrives will appear on the ship itself after stepping through the door, regardless of where it is in the waters. There may be a bit of disorientation at first, having to travel what may be a fair distance and the residual magic of Lilith’s touch, but it will fade quickly. Don’t worry, sinners!

They are safe on the waters. The icy, icy waters that appear as if they shouldn't be navigable at all. That's possibly a bit concerning, isn't it? There's also snow falling from the skies and frozen spirits that desperately scratch at the sides of the ship to climb aboard. They're used to the boiling waters of blood, not ice. Listen carefully, you can hear their whispers of confusion and desperation. "Why is it so cold?" they ask. "We hurt!" they howl. The staff busying themselves around the ship insist it's best to not concern oneself with it too much. It's like a vacation for them, really. Best worry about yourself.

Blankets are available on request, as well as warm clothes. Not all of these items will be... modern, maybe, but they will at least keep you warm. Hot chocolate, teas, and coffees are also being handed out freely by staff in an attempt to combat the freezing temperatures.

Lucifer may be spotted around the ship, looking rather wary but up and about again at least. He's quick to reassure everyone that Mammon will be giving them aid again and that they're heading to some absolutely beautiful lands. Perhaps sinners who are familiar with them will give them a recount of what it was truly like from the last visit.


The Voyage

The large luxury ship is painted a rather ominous black, giving it an intimidating feel on the outside. Once boarded, sinners will see that this initial feeling is likely unfounded. There are plenty of luxuries anyone could want, including a pool, a hot tub, and plenty of tropical drinks with tiny umbrellas provided free of charge. And that's just the deck! Bedrooms range from four person units, three person units, to couples' beds for those who wish to continue their matrimony (or who would rather avoid the hassle of potentially being paired with someone entirely new for the time being).

Not only that, but there's plenty of festive decorations saved from the hotel! Ranging from Jack O'Lanterns to spooky fake skeletons to inflatable witches, and anything in between. Just because tragedy has struck doesn't mean that the holiday spirit has disappeared! People need something to keep them distracted now, more than ever. The staff is happy to (try to) provide this.

There's also a grand bar that provides plenty of cider, mead, and ale, whiskeys from Mammon's own personal stock. These drinks range in strength and may land even the most resilient on the ground after a few sips if one isn't careful! Additionally, the drinks seem to inspire a feel good mood and chase away the dourness that seems to have settled over those in the Penance community. There's constant music playing that may inspire those around to dance, as well as rather hungry incubi and succubi wandering around. They seem eager to please in any and all ways and, like in Penance, give off a natural aphrodisiac that smells sweet to the senses.

There's also a theatre for those who may prefer to watch some festive movies (Enjoy this! There won't be any such things once sinners arrive in Mammon's domain!), an arcade for the younger crowd, and a lovely spa with saunas, massages, and any other way to treat oneself. Happy endings may be included.

The kitchens are always open and offer an array of decadent desserts, meats, vegetables, and anything else one could want. No request is too much! And don't worry, nothing is drugged or of questionable quality or origin (that one would recognize).


Reach Up High

There are two methods for earning a sin removal this time around, and none of them are painful! Very painful, at the very least.

The first option is to find a way to warm the spirits who enter the ship, whether this means cuddling the spirits and sacrificing your own warmth, or finding alternative means by wrapping them in blankets or offering them warm drinks while they have the energy to make themselves solid enough to hold items. Showing kindness to those damned to eternal suffering will certainly earn some points with God.

The second option involves volunteering to watch Barbas from his cage in the lower decks of the Hell ship. Bonus points for maintaining patience and kindness even with one of Hell’s least favorite Lords.


Follow Me Down

Prompt I

Lucifer is asking all sinners and demons alike to give something valuable (whether it's valuable in an actual monetary sense or just to the owner) to present to Mammon as a gift. They need to sway his favor back towards them, Lucifer insists, and gifts are the way to go. Mammon functions on greed and a love of all things unique. Items can be listed here. Those who are generous may receive special favor once they reach Mammon's lands, either in the form of special dinners, pampering, or more comfortable rooms, etc.

The second request is to kidnap the spirits climbing aboard and seeking warmth. While these guys just want to cuddle a bit or curl up next to the fires to try to chase the cold that somehow penetrates even their undead, incorporeal forms, they’re also a precious source of energy that Mammon will appreciate. While sinners are allowed to show kindness towards the spirits (much to the dismay of the staff), they will also be given bottles to capture them, also as gifts to bestow upon Mammon.

Please note that doing either of these will result in the sin of bribery and potentially betrayal being added to your list of sins.


Prompt II

WARNINGS: dubcon, aphrodisiacs, body transformations, drug use, alcohol

That isn't the end of the festivities either! Not at all. The demonic staff has orchestrated a bit of fun to distract from the cold and sense of impending doom hanging in the air by way of trick or treating. Sinners will be grabbed up by eager demons and led cabin to cabin to trick or treat. Those answering the door may choose either option! Treats may be in the form of candy, booze, or other trinkets or whatever one may consider a 'treat', and if a trick is chosen? Well, if you've just set yourself up for a little bit of a prank, haven't you? Good luck trying to figure out ways to appease the eager demons wanting a show! They just want to know they're appreciated, you know. Things have been rough.

For those who aren't terribly interested in any such thing, the staff has also decided on the perfect way to deal with any residual ghost trauma... which is telling ghost stories, of course. On the deck, there's been a special place set up with a fire pit (don't worry, it's being carefully watched! Last thing they need is a fire on the ship...) and blankets. There's also an array of food and drink while the goblins formerly of the library urge sinners to gather around for some story time. Sinners may listen to the goblins or share their own encounters with the spirits.

While they hardly managed to save much in the way of costumes, there's even an impromptu costume competition going on for those who may wish to try to piece together something from what odds and ends did make it to the ship. Voting will be done via sinners and rewards will be in the form of candies. Actual candy, don't worry! The barista from Helluvacup will also be out and about with Bean to spread cheer in the form of Halloween themed pastries and coffees with little spiders drawn in the foam (that may or may not look like spiders. Don't criticize him! Bean will protect his master with lovely disease-ridden bites.)

Of course, for all the well-intentioned shenanigans of the staff, the succubi and incubi are adding their own twist to things. Some have decided to taint the chocolates to add additional energy in the air. Once again, the sex demons feel as if they're famished with the lack of energy and they're doing their best to makeup for it... whether the sinners are aware of it or not. These chocolates the devilish incubi and succubi pass out will have a multitude of effects:

Milk Chocolate - inspires lust so strong, one cannot control it. It may lead to begging or public displays of self-pleasure.
Dark Chocolate - inspires the urge to dominate and aggression. It's time to take control and take what you want.
Chocolate covered cherries - inspire the urge to be submissive and the urge to please those around, in multiples if possible.
Chocolates filled with liqueurs - Inspires loose lips. Suddenly, the most appalling filth will be falling from your lips, every filthy desire there that you've kept hidden is now out in the open. How will others react?
Mint chocolate - May inspire transformations. Whether this is of the animalistic variety or sex, it is entirely up in the air. All of these effects can absolutely be mixed. Take as many chocolates as you like!

At least the succubi and incubi are being cordial enough to lead sinners off to a private area of the ship they've filled with plush cushions and bedding for the fun... mostly.

In addition, the sex demons will urge sinners in keeping each other warm in any sense of the word. What better ways than sharing some body heat? Or maybe adding a bit of candleplay to the mix...

If none of that tickles your fancy, there are also a wealth of drugs available to partake in, as well as a fight night happening below deck on one of the lower levels. Fights are carried out among sinners and demons alike, with plenty of help standing by to patch those injured up. Those partaking in either watching or actively participating may swap sins as bets, or anything else they may be willing to risk losing.

Quick question about the candy with effects. I am interested in playing around with those. but unfortunately it's with the character of mine who has a canon aversion to chocolate and refuses to eat it. Are there non-chocolate alternatives available that would have the same effects?

Hello, mods! Just a couple of questions...

The previous event when I had time to tag, Atem was offering (fake) food or to run errands for the ghosts using an old Ancient Egyptian invocation/offering formula to keep them from hassling either Yugi or himself. I was wondering if that could potentially count towards sin removal as it's in spirit (haha) of what's happening this TDM? If it can't, that's understandable! Just wanted to check.

Secondly, for my own clarification, are these ghosts missing pieces as well from being used as spell material or food? I want to assume the answer is yes, but the way the TDM reads it seems like these ghosts come from a different source, and I'd rather play it safe asking the silly question.

A. ARRIVAL
TRIGGER WARNING: DRUG OVERDOSE MENTION

[ Jane goes through the procession of newly entering souls like a zombie or a sleepwalker, feeling completely numb from head to toe. She almost seems to float rather than actually walk down the stairs, like she's drifting mindlessly in circles down each spiral. She climbs aboard the ship in much the same way, asking the demon at the entrance for nothing, seemingly not even noticing when he snaps to attention, just drifting slowly forward until she climbs abroad the ship.

It makes sense to her she's dead. And it makes sense that she would be in Hell. She might be less shell-shocked if this was completely out of the blue, if she had no recollection of how she got here, but she does. The last thing she remembers, she was coughing, unable to breathe, the bitter taste of bile in her mouth and the foul stench of vomit in her noes. Her eyes glassy, open, focused on the blurry but recognizable silhouette of a tall, thin, balding man hovering over her like some kind of sick angel of death...

If she was in more of her right mind, if she wasn't so overwhelmed, she might have some smartass comment about how Hell being on a cruise ship or "undergoing renovations" or any number of other things sounds like a mediocre Adult Swim cartoon. But she can't find it in her to make those kinds of jokes right now.

She'd shoved the list of her sins inside of her duffel bag with the rest of her things, sparing only the briefest glance at it, not wanting to even see all of what was on it. Even though she could imagine she already knew...

Jane slides down the wall of the ship, sitting down outside one of the cabins, probably not even her own, and feels warm tears well up in her eyes. Her face begins to redden and she covers it with her hands as she starts to softly cry into them. She's probably a pretty pathetic sight right now, crouched into a little ball against the wall, duffel bag on the floor next to her. She doesn't even have any shoes on. Or any pants. She's wearing nothing but the extra-long t-shit she went to bed in and her underwear. At least the shirt is long enough to cover everything that needs to be covered, but even that is no comfort to her right now as she sits there crying, cursing herself, thinking about everything she lost. Everything she carelessly thew away. ]

B. REACH UP HIGH.

[ This is several days after she's arrived in Hell. It's taken her a while, but Jane seems to be doing slightly better. Right now, she's on the top deck, leaning dangerously over the side of the ship, trying to pull up one of the smaller spirits onto the boat while its brothers and sisters, bigger and stronger, clamber up onto the side of the ship with ease. She can't help feeling the most sympathy for the one that's the weakest... the one that's forgotten... unwanted...

And she's... almost... got it... up...

The spirit scream as it starts to slip, and Jane winces when it yanks her arm. She does manage to hold onto it, although now it's more attached to her than the boat, dangling perilously above the icy waters.

That's when she notices you. ]

Hey, little help here? Wanna do the whole "With Our Powers Combined" "Wonder Twins Unite" thing and help me pull this poor little guy up? [ The spirit is making scrabbling noises as it tries desperately to regain its hold on the side of the boat. ] Or are you just here to laugh at me if I fall in and drown?

[ Can you drown when you're already dead and in hell? How would that work, anyway? ...Whatever. ]

C. FOLLOW ME DOWN

[ Jane is seated next to you at the fire pit, shivering as she clutches a too-thin blanket and pulls it around herself more tightly. She glances at the chocolate in your hand and gives you a certified judgey, skeptical look. Her voice drips with sarcasm. ]

Thought you weren't supposed to take candy from strangers?

((ooc: For the third prompt, let me know if you want smut or gen!

If you want gen, I'll have her take the chocolate away from your character and chuck it in the fire and then they can just talk lol.

If you want smut, then they can either eat it despite her side-eyeing them or try to convince her to eat it. M/f and f/f are both fine, just please no one underage. And! For chocolate types, I'm good with anything except the mint chocolate. Transformation just isn't my thing, sorry. But everything else is cool. ))

[ At the sound of someone asking for help, Nacho's head snaps up to look in Jane's direction. The shriek of the spirit she's trying to help kind of mixed in with all the others, and he's quite literally got his hands full at the moment -- the spirits are climbing up seeking warmth, which is something he's willing to offer. (Especially if it keeps anyone from getting possessed again.) But not at the expense of another sinner falling off the ship.

Whatever he says to the spirits can't be heard over the commotion, but they do mostly shift away from him and huddle together as he rushes over to Jane. The smallest of them stays clinging to his right leg like a ghostly koala bear and Nacho allows that, as it doesn't prevent him from leaning over the edge of the ship and grabbing onto the spirit with her, taking as much of its weight as he can.

They're surprisingly heavy, for being incorporeal half the time. The weight of their unforgiven sins, maybe? Hell is often unbearably literal. Either way, Jane's snark was correct -- they'll have to work together. ]

Big pull together on three. [ And he goes right into the count, letting the stranger use his support of the spirit's weight to brace herself better over the edge of the deck. ] One, two... three!

Lucifer | Obey Me!

I – The Voyage
For the sudden rush it had been to get all aboard and sent off from the mess that was the hotel, this was a rather nice ship. Lucifer is curious to their destination considering whose land it was, plus he had a mission to do once he was there; he had to get the ingredients he needed to try and communicate with the Asmodeus of this Hell.

He settles himself in one of the room, not thrilled by the lack of privacy to them, and makes note of the Halloween decorations, but no real comment on them. It would be Halloween in the Devildom too, he should be back there helping to organize whatever festival or party Diavolo would be holding. Instead he was stuck here. Away from it all. And Lucifer was seriously starting to get bored of his little ‘holiday’ away.

While he’s not the type to indulge too much in luxuries, a good drink was something Lucifer enjoyed. Sadly no 100 year old Demonus seemed to be around at this bar, but he’s fine with testing out a few other options. He’s pleasantly surprised to find some of the drinks actually had enough of a kick for a demon lord to enjoy, and takes up to nursing a couple of glasses as he relaxes in a seat. Any of the incubi or succubi who try and entice him are told to leave him alone, enough of a tone in his words to imply it was the safest option for them to not interact with him again.

He’ll also frequent the kitchens as needed to eat, and even maybe the theatre since he’s lost his access to the library. Something to pass the time. It’s doubtful someone will be able to convince him to go to the spa, as Lucifer tends to dislike showing off much skin, normally only his face uncovered unless he’s deciding not to wear gloves on a particular day.

II – Follow Me Down: I
Lucifer is considering his choices here. He really is not interested in helping those souls, and normally he wouldn’t care about making an ‘offering’… but he wants to know about this Mammon, as well as use his land to get materials. Plus… Mammon, his Mammon, was the brother Lucifer trusted the most. He’s also the one who annoyed him the most, but his most trusted. After hearing what the Asmodeus of this realm had been through thanks to this Lucifer… Lucifer wants to know about this Mammon and where he stood on everything.

It took some time to consider an offering, though he’s amused that Mammon was still as greedy as ever. Really, for how many years now has Lucifer been paying off Mammon’s debts when his brother got in too deep? But still, it’s not like he can just hand over a bunch of money to this Mammon, not with no currency here. Instead he considers the items he came with. Lucifer hates to give any of them up, but he finds himself stuck between the two most precious to him; a simple looking plastic phone charm made to look like a chocolate lizard, and a bottle of red nail polish. In the end he settles to offer Mammon the nail polish, a silent apology to Asmodeus for doing so, before making sure the phone charm was safely tucked away.

As for the second request, that was simple. After all, he’s recently been capturing spirits back at the hotel for his own use, this shouldn’t prove any more difficult. Armed with those bottles given to him, Lucifer has a number of ideas how to deal with this situation…

III – Follow Me Down: II
Maybe it’s because he hasn’t come across any drugged food yet, or that Lucifer doesn’t believe it will affect him, that his will was too strong for it to. Either way, he doesn’t consider the safety of those chocolates as they go around, deciding to treat himself to one or two.

The chocolates filled with liqueurs was a nice treat, one Lucifer can appreciate for not being too sweet as well as the little extra of the alcohol within it. However as someone who holds his thoughts and feelings very close to his chest and refuses normally to voice them, this was a special type of torture for him, to just speak so easily. A general interest of his? Maybe. But if a person who would specifically target approaches him… well, it may get even more detailed.

If not chocolate liqueurs, then maybe someone will catch him after trying a mint chocolate. Only for Lucifer to suddenly finding himself with wolf-like features he most certainly did not have before. Lucifer wishes he could say this was a first… but it wasn’t. How often did someone do a spell wrong, or got a potion wrong, only for someone else to trigger it or somehow mix it into their food.

It doesn’t mean it’s not an annoyance though.

II – Follow Me Down: I

Conrad has run into a fair few of the spirits wanding the ship seeking warmth, but they're always disappointed that his undead body can't produce any heat. He's not interested in trying to capture them, so he just shoos them off if they try to cozy up to him. Or he walks away at a brisk pace.

He's trying to outrun a particularly persistent lost soul when he comes across Lucifer. He knows what those bottles are for since one of the ships' demons had tried to get him to take on the task of bottling spirits. "You're hunting for ghosts, huh?"

I. Arrival
There's an almost drunken state of vertigo, going down these stairs, down and down. He's been into the undercroft of the Umbra Gates a couple of times, and also into the winding spiral of the Dungeons of Penance, but there's something more about this. The inability to properly right himself. The unfamiliarity. The dispassion to all of this.

No, this isn't right. He served the Light. If something had happened, they would have assured there was a Beacon for them. Something...

Panic grips him, something that only changes his breathing on the outside but that fills him something cold and awful. He takes this scroll and tucks it into his belt before scuttling away. He looks at the others in line; does anyone else feel sick? Are they worried? He looks for anything familiar on these unfamiliar faces.


II. The Voyage
Verin's never seen anything like it.

The haze of the sky is helpful, at least, although that only extends to standing on the deck of this strange, oversized vessel. Inside, the lights are so bright it feels like the holy days of Light in Rosohna when he was a child and unused to a more consistent light. This is so bright, and so persistent, it makes his eyes water.

There's certainly plenty to do. He's still not entirely sure where he is, and the strange, vibrating movement of the vessel makes him a little sick. But, for the most part, he just tries to find others that look like they need a little help and do what he can.

Surely, he'll be able to get back to where he's supposed to be. This is all just a big misunderstanding.


III. Follow Me Down, 2
Rosohna hadn't had a lot of sweets. Verin's experience with decadence had largely been private, or the action of friends he had made when he had left home. So the chocolates are more than a little bit tempting.

He has a selection. He's picked up one of each, when they were offered, although he hasn't tried any of them. Moreso, he's curious about the enchantment that makes them so compelling--or is that just that he's lonely and lost and hasn't had a lot of experience with chocolate in the first place? At any rate, he's not even sure that he does want to try them.

But he picked them up, didn't he? Just a bite won't hurt.

Essek had long since grown accustomed to the cruise ship; he had been on it enough that finding things had become second nature. Currently, he was trying to simply locate a quiet corner; he had some research to accomplish and Mollymauk’s volume was currently exceeding he allowed amount in their small room. This should have been easy; he had accomplished it many times before.

But as he floated across the large, moving vessel, he saw violet skin, some different shade than Lucien or Mollymauk’s. He saw long, white hair. He saw armor, shined and perfect, angular, pieces he had not seen in years. He saw symbols of his home, of the beacon.

Time stopped. His heart stopped. The world stopped in that moment.

“…V-Verin?”

"I didn't think Hell would be so cold," he mumbles as he steps out on to a... ship? The cold is instantly biting through even his clothes and all he can do for a moment is fold his arms around himself in an attempt to fend off the chill. He didn't expect Hell to be comfortable, but this is quite a welcoming, isn't it?

"I did not think it would snow either. Interesting... And here I thought 'When Hell freezes over' was just a phrase." But apparently it's quite literal. At least at the moment, it is.

Of course when he ventures towards the edge to look over at the waters? He may well regret it... just a bit. The way the spirits scratch desperately. He can't help but feel bad for them, especially with many... staff? walking around seemingly oblivious. "Can't they let them on?"

Or maybe it would be dangerous. Jack is willing to accept that there's a lot he doesn't know about Hell. Including how he got here, to be honest. But at least he is himself and not the one that is not him. That could have been a danger for the whole ship. He may be surrounded by sinners, but that does not mean he'd enjoy a blood bath.

Although that does pose an interesting question, doesn't it? It's what prompts him to turn towards the nearest person a little bit later and ask, "Do you know if there are full moons in Hell? I am not seeing much in the sky at all, but..."

That doesn't mean anything. He doesn't really know how things work down here at all and that comes with its own complications when it comes to his... condition. Add in the lack of space to lock himself away in, it could be trouble.

Drinks;

The bar eventually draws him in. Some place quiet to sit and think, perhaps, and to watch others as they come and go. He's not exactly drinking much from the glass he's nursing between his hands. It's a very fine whiskey, but-- being drunk seems a bad idea at the moment.

Although part of him wonders if he could become drunk off the heavy smell of alcohol in the air alone after a while. It's enough to make his nose itch, to make him feel a bit like facing the cold may be the better alternative here. He doesn't mind the rowdy crowds gathering though, nor the brief sense of not being alone in strange and terrible circumstances.

"What? No!" He shoves at the glass, shaking his head. "No, no, no. I don't care who Mammon is, you cannot expect me to--"

He gestures towards the poor spirits climbing on to the ship. "To trap them. They have done nothing to me! Or to anyone else! Why are we trying to use them as if they're just... just."

He gestures. "Currency, nothing more? Were they not people once before?"

He's-- a bit overwhelmed actually. Far from Ted, from Elsa, and eternally damned. He may not disagree with it, exactly. He knows what he is. He knows that he is not a monster. He is quite human, but-- the other beast inside? Oh, he is terrible. He's very rarely shown mercy at all. So perhaps he deserves the damnation for the blood on his own hands, no matter how careful he tries to be. But it doesn't mean these circumstances aren't weighing on him a bit. It's all... overwhelming.

And then-- Halloween happens in Hell, apparently. He has to deal with trick or treaters, or ghost stories, and while normally he may delight in the chance to get to know others, to humor this sort of thing... he's mostly just walking around the ship, a heavier jacket finally wrapped around him tight enough to fight off the chill. Maybe he'll engage later when he's feeling a bit better about himself, about these horrific circumstances.

That's about when he's approached with the offer of chocolates.

"Ah--" There's a laugh. Skulls? "Those are almost cute in a strange way. Whoever made them seems talented."

Ted stops, bottle in the air, when he hears Jack's protests. He looks at the bottle, looks at the spirit trying to cuddle up to him, and gives out frustrate grunts that equate to annoyance that they're not going to do this.

Still, he puts the bottle aside and lets the spirit snuggle all over him, shoulders drooping. Jack is vulnerable, and he's concerned about what might happen to him if they don't offer something to this Mammon person. It's for Jack's own good.

He has to ask, is Jack going to offer them something valuable, then? Ted can offer them mushrooms. (Those are valuable for spells, no?)

[ Lalo seems remarkably chill about this whole 'eternal damnation' thing. Hell, huh? That's amazing. That's hilarious. But if he's really dead, then he can't remember how he died, which is annoying because that means it probably wasn't anything fun or cool but something stupid and painless like a brain aneurysm in his sleep. Maybe he and Varga got into a car accident on the way to Mexico that happened so fast neither of them saw it coming. Guess he'll know if Varga shows up too. He really hopes that's not the case. If it is, he'll be angry. He can be okay with being in Hell knowing Varga is up there running things, protecting the Salamanca family interests, but if they're both down here then everything's fucked.

But oh well. These things happen.

when he feels like he's gotten enough of his bearings to feel comfortable approaching someone, it's in the hallways of the cabins. He floats up behind someone, very gently touching their elbow.

When they turn around, he flashes them a smile. ]

Hey. I'm very sorry to bother you. But I think I've gotten myself a little lost. [ Sheepish smile. ] I'm new here. And those guys -- [ Jerks thumb over his shoulder at one of the demon staff. ] They give me the creeps, eh? So if it's not too much trouble, I was hoping you could direct me to my room. Please.

[ See, he's being nice saying 'please' and everything! He wasn't laughing at his list of sins when he first arrived like a psycho at all. Quash that thought. ]

[ If you want to get someone to like you, you don't do something for them. You get them to to do something for you. It boosts their self-esteem and makes them feel good about themselves, which in turn makes them associate the good feelings with you. It's not something Lalo understands on a base emotional level. He doesn't understand the concept of 'doing things for others' who aren't Salamancas in his soul the way he definitely should. But he's observed the connection to be true for other people a lot of the time, for some reason, and he's happy to exploit it.

So he peers at the one of the bottles, with a slightly confused expression and a sheepish shrug, and then back up at them. And then he grins, ofc. ]

[ Jesse generally does things for people he likes. He does things for people he doesn't like, too. His reasoning is far different from Lalo's, though. Having gathered a whole slew of Mommy and Daddy issues growing up, he's ended up being a bit of a people-pleaser. Getting praise and attention or being recognized for contributing in some way are like a drug to him, not much different than the actual drugs he's been known to turn to when the going gets rough. Dopamine and endorphins are dopamine and endorphins. The brain doesn't tend to recognize any difference between sources. It doesn't care where it comes from; just keep the Good Feels coming.

He's holding a bottle of his own, but rather than trying to make use of it, he's looking for someone to pawn it off on. He's heard the talk that capturing spirits as gifts for Mammon will gain you favor in the underworld, but as much as Jesse likes getting on peoples' good sides, he has to wonder if he really wants to be praised by a literal demon. Yeah, the guy might be in charge of his own little section of Hell, but what would pleasing him really cost in the end? There's a consequence to every action here, and he's not sure he wants to know the consequence of this one.

Still, When Lalo turns to him and asks for help, Jesse can't help but feel the urge to leap into action and make himself useful. It's not often that someone asks him how to do something. It feels...kind of nice. He frowns a little, though, at the thought of trapping one of those poor souls inside a bottle. But maybe there's no harm in telling this guy how to do it. Right? ]

Uh...I think they've got some magic about 'em. You just kinda...corner the spirit you wanna catch and uncork it and then aim the opening at 'em?

[Quite honestly, Ramsay's never thought much of the afterlife-- not the old gods talked much about it in the first place (and if he's rather honest, he's never put much stock in them). But he's rather sure that wherever he's now, it's that, as he's not delusional enough to believe he's alive after his beasts tore into him.

No, that pain was quite real, and anger builds within him, despite knowing well that he was going to die once that bastard of a Stark punched him unconscious.

The lack of recognition about his person is also quite insulting, but maybe it can be beneficial in its own way. He's aware that he wasn't the most popular person around and without his title and army, he'll have to be a bit more careful. Although, surely, his father would be in this place, and the thought of confronting him puts Ramsay in a rather sour mood, until he's given a 'welcome' package of sorts. Including a pamphlet and... a odd little brick?? It's thin.]

[About ten minutes later, Ramsay seems almost gleeful about his new Android. Never such a thing has existed in Westeros and well, it's not quite as entertaining as flaying people, but it's worth keeping.

Maybe things would be different if he was still a Snow, but he takes his duties as the only heir quite seriously.

But perhaps he can think about it a little later, once he's finished with his current drink and food.

As he bites into a large turkey leg (maybe), Ramsay finds himself in a good enough spirit to raise his cup of mead to another.]

[Oh, what story to tell a goblin and the others? It's supposed to be about the spirits, but that's boring-- he has things far more interesting to tell. There's just so many to choose from, but he has a favorite tale. One that involves a fallen prince and torture--even if he betrayed Ramsay in the end. But well, why spoil such a fun tale with that sort of ending? He wants to relive some of his finer moments anyway.

Well, maybe he can put his own spin on it to fit the theme.]

Is it my turn next? [He smiles at everyone, his eyes going from one person to the next, as if making sure they're listening.] There's a famous tale about a dirty but loyal nobody named Reek that resisted an all too proud spirit of a prince. Such a ghoulish creature he was.

[ Monika is not happy, and for once, she's consistently doing a horrible job of hiding that on the outside. After the chaos and revelations that came out in the past few weeks, she's utterly exhausted with Hell. That's saying a lot, considering how much she's gladly put up with its more crappy moments. To have to lose one of the most important people to her on top of some of her most cherished possessions, and worse still, to have to return to Mammon's domain? To the lands of the person she'd so desperately love to make suffer?

Yeah. Not happy.

There are long moments where she's outside, hardly dressed for the weather and seemingly not bothered by it. She stares down over the railings at the clawing souls with her expression and body painfully tensed. If prodded about it, she might be cagey, or she might go on an unending rant about how much Hell has wronged her and everyone in it. Do you know how much she's lost? Do you? Also, wouldn't it be great if we all just stabbed Mammon?

Other times, she'll be wandering around the ship with her pets to give them some opportunities to stretch their legs and/or wings, as well as get away from the menagerie of pets that were cramped up in her cabin. Well, mostly it's her turkey and cat staring as she continually fights with her recently-adopted dragon. When she's not protecting her ponytail from dragon attacks, she's dragged them along to watch a movie as she sips on one of the tropical drinks that are in abundance. Who wouldn't want some animal noises on top of Monika's not-so-quiet commentary about horror movies and the genre's dumb cliches?

Otherwise, she does make some attempts to relax. Sometimes that means hogging the entire hot tub. Other times, it's crying into a glass of champagne at the bar. And when she's being really smart, she keeps to her room to find some way to terrorize her boyfriends and/or friends next door. It's hard having to share a space with someone again, okay? She can't help that she needs most of it!

- Having been on the cruise ship before, Conrad isn't exactly thrilled to be at sea again and he's not really keen on traipsing about the decks. He'll stick to his quarters most of the time, leaving to visit the kitchen or the bar only when he's hungry. He's not exactly in the mood for Halloween festivities, with one exception...

Going to the theatre to watch some horror movies is something he can actually get a little excited about. Whether he's alone or someone tags along with him, it doesn't matter, he's going to enjoy himself. Maybe he'll get to see a movie he's familiar with, and regardless, bloody horror flicks appeal to his natural vampiric inclinations. Don't pay him any mind as he utters a few pleasant hums or his eyes give off a faint red glow in the dark theatre. He's just really into the cinematic experience of watching a bloodbath on the big screen.

Reach Up High — Poor Unfortunate Souls~

- Since he is undead, Conrad can't exactly warm a soul using body heat. He's as cold as a corpse. And he's not the cuddling type, anyway. So if he's going to heat up a ghost, he needs to find another way, and if a ghost wants a hot cup of tea, sure why not? At least he thinks that's what the spirit wants. It's been hanging around, murmuring something about needing relief from the bitter cold, and it followed him all the way to the ship's kitchen.

Even though he's wary of vengeful spirits, Conrad's willing to help and he takes some pleasure in performing domestic tasks. Since he became a vampire he misses the mundane little things he did when he was alive. He puts a kettle on the stove and attempts to make some idle conversation with the soul while the water boils, but that really doesn't go anywhere.

If anyone else comes along, he'll feel just a little awkward, and wonder if what he's doing is actually completely ridiculous. He should probably explain himself. "I, uh... I was just making some tea for the, erm, ghost..." And he gestures toward the spirit who is floating a few inches above one of the chairs at the kitchen counter. Yeah, this has to look pretty weird, right? He'd rather show the spirits some kindness, though, and attempt to give them what they want. It's definitely preferable to the cruelty of stuffing them into jars or bottles or whatever.

Follow Me Down — Tricks-N-Treats~

- Getting roped into doing trick-or-treat is mildly infuriating and something he'd hoped to avoid this year. But, of course, he has no such luck. As a vampire, Conrad doesn't really need to dress up for Halloween, does he? Well, the demon who's strong-arming him into this humiliation doesn't quite agree. He's told he at least needs to lose the glasses, they make him look too nerdy. And he should bear his fangs more, even though he really only has the one prominent snaggle-tooth.

Conrad complies, albeit begrudgingly, as he's terribly nearsighted and usually tries to hide his fang as best he can. He's given a candy bucket and taken to the first cabin to begin his trick-or-treating tour. "I'm definitely WAY too old for this nonsense," he grouses but knocks as the demon who's escorting him keeps a watchful eye.

- When Conrad is back in his room for the evening and there's a knock at the door, he'll answer it if someone is persistent enough. He'll look more than a little annoyed, even if he knows the person being forced to trick-or-treat has no real say in the matter.

"Here, um- Just hold on a second." Since his strict diet doesn't allow him to eat any candy, the chocolates he was given by demons while trick-or-treating are just going to go to waste unless he gives them away. So he dips into his candy haul and forks over a few pieces. He really doesn't want to have to deal with being tricked because he got stingy with the sweets.

"Uh...can it even drink tea?" Pause. "It'd be kinda impressive if it can. I've just been cuddling the other ones. You can't cuddle them?"

Setsuna, too, thinks this is an improvement to capturing, though. That makes him kind of sad. He's never been fond of the idea.

[You know what would annoy a guy who under normal circumstances cannot feel pain? Seeing ghosts bitching and moaning about hurting. Which is why when seeing demons encouraging sinners to bottle up the spirits who've come aboard seeking warmth, some deep-seated pettiness acts as the tipping point to get him to take the periodic bottle and go hunt the spirits down.

Those spirits have no use of any senses and thoughts right now. They'll be more useful as a source of energy. And the fact that they can feel pain (apparently constantly) irks the living bejesus out of him.

Maybe he's snuck up behind a spirit who's making a beeline for a sinner in search of warmth, or maybe he lured one close with a mug of coffee as bait only to bottle them before they can take a sip. Maybe you catch him doing this on his own, or you've teamed up. Heck, what about him spotting a sinner now freezing and shivering from loss of body warmth so he captured the spirit who took it all? Whatever the scenario, Noiz will capture that damn spirit while running on pure spite and resentment.]


Follow Me Down: Prompt II cw: potential for nsfw, dubcon

[Noiz winds up as one of the hapless sinners "encouraged" to go trick or treating. The heck is this nonsense? He knows of Halloween, but German kids don't go trick-or-treating in most parts of the country. As such, he primarily knows of it as some spooky holiday held the night before All Saints Day that gets mentioned in books and TV sometimes. The demons shove him into some torn and tattered outfit covered in bloodstains and send him off to collect candy.

The worst of it is, so much of the candy is chocolate. As he collects candy, he sifts through the bucket for the chocolate ones and either gives those away or outright tosses them at people. Ugh. Chocolate. Enjoy being pelted by unwanted candy.

What one can see him enjoying is the other candy. Marshmallow bats, bit-o-honey, licorice, gummies, taffy, flavored hard drops... you name it, he'll eat it as long as it doesn't contain chocolate. And it seems that the chocolates must not have been the only candy tainted, because something he ate sure resulted in some kind of effect.]

He makes an odd noise after- choking? Well, if he is, it's not going to stop Peter from casually standing there and talking. He will not be trying the heimlich maneuver.]

i. Stand Your Ground

[Adam's mouth was pressed into a thin line as he leaned over the railing of the ship, peering down at the freezing spirits. After what he'd learned at the ghostly ball, he felt even more upset about the treatment of the spirits than he would have otherwise. It wasn't fair, though things rarely were. Wasn't there a better way to power things than the energy of the dead? Were they really dead?]

Shouldn't we do something to help them?

[He couldn't help but think- what if one of the poor unfortunate souls down there was actually someone he knew. The guilt would eat him if he stood around and did nothing.]

ii. The Voyage

[The Halloween decorations were alright. Adam just didn't feel very festive right now. It was hard to feel like celebrating anything when everything seemed so awful. He steered clear of the bar, and though he lingered near the theatre for a while, he eventually ended up in the arcade.

It was familiar and almost comforting, and easier to lose himself in a game or two of pinball than it was to sit around and do nothing. He wasn't very good at the last part; he'd always been someone who'd preferred action. Doing nothing felt like wasting time and time was a valuable resource.]

iii. Reach Up High

[True to his earlier sentiment, Adam did what he could for the spirits who made it on board. He wrapped a blanket around the shoulders of a young woman spirit before handing her a cup of warm tea. He didn't know if spirits could drink anything, but he figured it was the thought that counted. He even made sure she had the energy to hold the cup before he fully let go of it.]

[He hadn't thought anything of the chocolates he'd taken--or rather, he did, but everything else he'd eaten so far on the ship had been innocent enough. He hadn't been able to detect anything off about the chocolates before eating a few, particularly mint chocolate and one filled with liqueur. One hit him before the other and before he knew it, his body from the waist down was rearranging itself.

It was a familiar change, and he scrambled to get his shoes off before his feet turned into hooves. His knees bent the wrong way now but his pants still fit--barely--and there was soft white fur covering his legs. At least he didn't have a tail.]

Henry buttons the black peacoat up and pops the collar up as he steps out onto the ship's deck, snow sticking to his hair and eyelashes.

He moves toward the railing watching the icy waters, another boat journey; how many had this made in his life, in his time here alone?

He watches the spirits and hears the whispers of the souls asking for help with the freezing temperatures.

Henry walks around, sipping from his glass, swaying a little; the more he drinks and inhales, perhaps he should have found one of his donors instead of ordering from the bar.

He can feel the incubi and succubi starting to linger on the outer edges of his personal space as he breathes in the sweet-smelling air around him.

He sets the glass down, even though he's pretty sure whatever was in it is already working through his system.

He finds one of the sofas and settles back into it, giving a slow blink; as he watches the couples starting to dance, he wouldn't say no to a dance with the right person, or perhaps anyone.

Henry wraps a blanket around himself as he sits by the campfire, listening to peoples' and other creatures' stories and thinking about sharing one of his own. He takes a long sip from the mug of almost body-temperature blood, which is so lovely that he orders another and perhaps a third.

[ Jane approaches him slowly, several spirits clinging to her. One wraps itself around her waist, the other hands off one of her arms. She doesn't mind, letting them take what warmth they can from her, even though she's thin and gets cold easily.

His clothes and mannerisms are so different from anything she's used to that she can't help but be curious. She gives him a tiny, two-fingered wave. ]

For Teddy

Having four other roommates during the trip wasn't terrible. Kate didn't mind sharing one of the beds with America if it gave a safe place for the others to rest and relax. It wasn't too bad having a giant cat-like creature rooming with you in this cold weather either.

For now, though, the room was quiet and cozy. Kate was curled up against Teddy, an arm under her head, admiring wings. Teddy's wings at that. Running the back of her hand against it, she has a lazy smile on her face. Her appreciation for wings had grown since arriving in Hell. A bit ironic, maybe, to have found her enjoyment of wings through Setsuna's angel wings in Hell of all places.

"I guess these types of cruises aren't a usual thing here?"

Kate had two blankets tossed over her shoulder and a worn thermos filled with a hot drink. It wasn't much but it was what Kate could manage. It was better than nothing, right?

Kate might have been inviting these spirits into a warm environment under the false pretense that she would soon scoop them up into the provided bottles by the demons. At least they would know a sense of comfort before meeting their fate of a glass prison to be handed over to Mammon.

For the time being, though, Kate was holding out one of the blankets to one of the shivering spirits. It was cold. Very cold. Cold enough that Kate had her own layers on and was enjoying the extra warmth the blankets were offering. "Hey. Do you want a sip of this, too? I think it's hot chocolate," she explains, holding up the thermos.

There was a small canvas bag of bottles slung over her shoulder and Kate was trying not to focus on the glass clanging as she searched for the lurking spirits. She looked a bit lost, seemingly on auto-pilot, as she walked the ship's deck and floors. Not too long before setting out on this mission, Kate had turned over a handful of her valuables. Her bow, arrows, and her mother's necklace. The amount wasn't necessary but Kate needed to make sure everyone would gain passage. What if someone didn't have something to offer? What if they didn't want to? The latter stung at the thought but Kate couldn't change her mind now.

Pausing, she grabbed a bottle from the satchel and, with as much silence she could muster, Kate uncorked the bottle. Taking quick steps forward, she swiped up one of the spirits and quickly shoved the cork into the top. "...I'm sorry."

"Actually, they aren't as unusual as you'd think," Teddy answered with a shrug. The shrug of course shifted the whole of the massive feathered wings he wore now. Wings that were a beautiful shade of deep green mixed with black that had an iridescence all their own. That was just how he worked with these.

"This is the third, sorta. One out to Mammon's after Barbas attacked us and destroyed the hotel last year. One back. Now this. Granted this is three in a bit more than three years of my experience. Be happy this time there aren't the rats stealing things."

At the bar, Wanda is on her — well, actually, she's lost count of how many glasses of cider she's had at this point. It's really good, okay? So, when someone else approaches the bar near her, whether she knows them or not, she looks over at them. “In case you're wondering, it's kind of annoying how good the cider is.” Not that she seems all that annoyed in truth. “Solid twelve out of ten.” She nods slightly as she takes another large sip from her glass.

Later, she decides to try out the sauna at the spa. She's not much one for heat but since she's never tried a sauna, she figures, why not? Even if she'll probably hate it. So, after she takes a seat in there, she gives it what feels like ten minutes before speaking somewhat quietly.

“Can't tell; is this getting to the relaxing part, or is it torture?”

After the experience in the sauna which left much to be desired, Wanda is quite happy to have one of the coffees and a lot of the chocolates.

And of course, it's not long before some of the effects of the chocolate start to hit her. She's also thinking it's no fun to be in this state alone (she's been in Hell long enough to know resistance is futile, et cetera), so the nearest person to her gets an offer of: “Try a chocolate, they're good. Or more if you've had some already.” And holds out her plate of them.

Who can resist a beautiful, slightly tipsy woman sitting by herself at the bar? Not Lalo, that's for sure. Besides, he's new here. No time to waste making some new friends, right?

He slides into the seat beside Wanda and gives her an easy, friendly smile. Anyone who isn't afraid to start conversations with strangers is worth knowing in his book. And--- she says it's twelve out of ten, huh? Sounds like a ringing endorsement if Lalo's ever heard one. "Annoyingly good? Is that right? And here I was just thinking that I wasn't sure what I wanted. Lucky for me I've got you here to guide me."

He orders a cider and waits. Once it's served, he takes it in one hand and offers it to her, so they can clink glasses. If she wants to, of course. Always important to defer to the lady's wishes when approaching a lone woman at a bar.

If Wanda does decide to knock her glass with his, she'll get a tiny nod and a happy, "Cheers!" in response.

[ The spirits truly make a very pitiful and sad crowd. It's difficult not to feel a little bad for them but, well ... If they need to give Mammon gifts to stay on his good side, then that's what he'll do, but he'll absolutely not give the bastard anything that he owns. Which is why he stands among freezing, sad spirits with a bottle full of one of them.

He holds up the bottle to study it for a moment. ]

Huh, that was easier than I expected.

[ Luckily for him, he's actually dressed for this weather. Sure, blankets don't hurt, but when he sees a shivering spirit and he knows he's at least got a hoodie to help keep him warm ... Well, he doesn't know if a blanket will help a spirit, but when he holds it out to one of them, it seems eager to grab it. ]

O-okay, if you say so. Or, err, something.

[ He wraps the blanket around the spirit, and after a moment's hesitation, he wraps an arm around it to try to rub some heat into it. ]

To say Saul has had a bad day would, truly, be putting it lightly. He knows he's in Hell, he knows he's meant to suffer or atone or whatever nonsense due to his own sins and that he's here because of his many, many bad choices in life. But this? This is the first time Hell has truly felt hellish, and without any sort of safe space he can hide out in to block out the worst of the punishments.

He almost has to bitterly laugh to himself, because of course, the second time is the charm. Mike was right this time, Lalo was actually dead. But now, not only is Lalo dead, he's down here in Hell right alongside him.

Saul is jumpy, his nerves are shot, and he's far too paranoid now about what might be lurking in any shadow, but sitting in his room, decidedly not packing up all his and Kim's belongings to play a game of catch me if you can around Hell for all eternity, was doing Saul no good. He needed to do something to attempt to calm himself down. Thank Lucifer for small blessings like the bar. He knows being out in the open is risky as far as a second encounter with Lalo goes, but Saul isn't planning on being out here long. Just long enough to finish a glass or two or three of whatever drink the demon deems fit to serve him.

Getting a drink wasn't on Walter's agenda for the evening until he saw the gaudy suit sitting alone at the bar. The wardrobe is unmistakable, and the combover really drives it home as to who he sees sitting before him, drowning his sorrows. Change of plans.

"Seems like being a criminal lawyer caught up with you in the end," he says, taking a seat on the empty barstool to Saul's right. "Though I'm not surprised to see you here, too."

He orders a whiskey, neat, and waits silently for the demon to bring his drink over... But he doesn't, can't stay silent for very long. The silence is uncomfortable at best.
